Touched my soul! |
| I am a 3rd year social work student at university in Australia, and I want to work in the area os suicide prevention. Iread this book to get a deeper understanding, and I certainly got that. it was so good that I am encouraging other students to read it. I am also intrigued about the los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center, I hope to go there one day. I also work as a telephone counsellor with an organisation called Lifeline and I now undersand so much more about what certain clients feel when they talk abut feeling suicidal. The people I have listened to, I have such a better understanding. I intend on purchasing a copy for my own personal collection. I could read it again and again. |
Opened my mind |
| I read this book in the hospital after my 2nd attempt to kill myself. It brought to light so many things that I was unable to see in myself and what I was doing to my family. It helped me understand my suicide attempts that had previously blindsided me. I had no idea why nor did any of my loved ones. I reccommended this book to all of my friends and family so they could also understand. It is a quick read and although repetitive, very accurate. |
Don't read if you are suicidal |
| Don't read this book if you are suicidal. It will not relieve your pain. It is far too academic and not helpful at all to suicidal people. Recommended only for professionals. |
