| This fine and very enjoyable history of the Philadelphia Athletics franchise is a must-read for any baseball fan or history buff. Jordan makes the somewhat daunting task of covering the entire history of the Philadelphia team seem easy, using a graceful and lively writing style. I learned a lot about the Athletics, about baseball and about Philadelphia - and I thought I knew a lot about Philadelphia baseball! I cannot recommend this book highly enough. |
