The Pinnacle of Rock Music
| Wow! This truly is the best rock album ever released in my own opinion. Ok so Metallica's Black album and Ride the Lightning are also great but this is just that tiny bit better. Starts with the pounding Skin O My Teeth and never lets up right through to Ashes in your Mouth. In fact every song on this album is a potential rock classic - I can't think of another album like this. Countdown greatly improves on Rust in Peace in that it just isn't a rip off of a previous album i.e. Peace sells. The band also develops a unique style on this album which they would keep until Risk, however none of the following albums can compare to Countdown, not even the brilliant Cryptic Writings. If you don't have this album I have one simple message: GET IT NOW - it is that good, by the way don't believe what people say about Peace sells... this is Megadeth at their very best. | |
THIS ONE IS FOR ALL OF YOU BASHERS LIVING IN THE PAST
| What's up with all you reviewers bashing this album for it's difference from their earlier albums? do you want all megadeth albums sounding the same. It's not commerciality it's maturity. what has made megadeth the best metal band of all time is that it fails to sound the same on every album. This is because of the band's level of musicianship. The lyrics are better than ever and Mustaine's voice has improved a lot. This is one of Megadeth's best albums. I love all their albums so I can't say this is the best. This album might not be at the speed of sound but it definetely has the attitude. Listen to Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets, Architecture of Aggression. All the songs on this album are awesome, and it's way better than Metallica's Black Album, trust me, I'm a fan of both bands. Listen to Megadeth's newer albums too, they're awesome and each different in style. I recommend Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings, Risk, and The World Needs a Hero, and how could I forget Hidden Treasures (album contains 3 grammy nominees) Look for Dave Mustaine in the next year, he'll be back. | |
Great album to start your Megadeth collection with
| Megadeth's Fifth Album On this outing you will see that Megadeth made thier songs a bit more commercialized and acessible. After listening to this album uncountable times I can honestly tell you that it doesn't even make a difference. This is Megadeth at the top of thier game musically and lyrically. All Megadeth fans should have this in thier collection, it is essential. Highlights Include; Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets and Ashes In Your Mouth |
