Good for exhausting - not a useful intake for collection.
| Even after reading the reviews, I thought it would be worth a shot to buy 50' of hose for an incredible price. It arrived in a rather small box for a 50' hose, so I had my doubts as to the likeliness of it serving my shop. After taking it out of the box it reminded me of a Slinky with a thin plastic membrane. Remarkably the hose did extend to 50'! My application was primarily to connect my floor sweep and move it about the shop during cleanup. Unfortunately when the hose is connected to a dust collector (mine is a 2hp model) the hose will constrict (like an accordion) and collapses back to about four feet. Next, I tried to use it with some of my connections, but the same problem prevented the hose from being practical. Lastly - I decided to use the hose as an exhaust for moving air through the finishing area. Works fine for this application. I would highly recommend using the Jet hose or solid tubing for a DC connection. This was not a wise investment however it was also not too costly. | |
Perfect for my application
| This is a fairly light duty hose. I would not recommend it for any sort of a permanent installation (use something more substantial). For temporary hook-ups it's PERFECT!. I bought some "FazLok" connectors from Woodworker's Supply to temporarly connect my dust collector to my mobile table saw, band saw, and drill press. I'm using a 15' length of hose which fits into a 3 foot length of 6" plastic drain pipe for storage (including the FazLok connectors). I've attached a short piece of copper wire to the the wire in the hose and connected the wire to a magnet (to attach to the metal part of my table saw). It takes only a second or two to attache the FazLok connector and ground my system. Highly recommended! | |
Great for moving from tool to tool
| I have a 600 CFM vacuum (JET), a garbage can separator, and then 50' of this. I move it from router to planer to jointer. It works very well. My only caution is : Open it in a well ventelated area - the plastic odor from mine was VERY strong for about 48 hours. (Now there is no odor.) |
