It keeps right on a hurtin... |
| I can't get this CD out of the car deck. I can't stop listening to Dwight and the guitar bring "three chords and the truth" to life. "A Thousand Miles From Nowhere" is breathtaking in it's beauty and pain. Dwight's voice and melodies evoke country music roots in Irish ballads, especially "She Wore Red Dresses." I'm new to Dwight's music and still enjoy the fully loaded versions, but this CD just rises above that honky-tonkin mood. It's beautiful. |
Incomprable |
| This is the best album by Dwight bar none. The stripped down versions of these hits is amazing and reflect his true talent. Buy this and you will listen to it over and over. I bought this when it was first released and have enjoyed it way too much. You will not be disappointed. |
CD of the year, if you can believe it |
| I'm not crazy about Country, especially Nashville Pop. I saw Dwight in concert on his Summer 2003 tour playing acoustic with one guitarist/mandolinist accompanying. Some astonishingly good stuff presented directly. This cd is even more slimmed down and has haunted my musical mind since the first playing. I highly recommend this recording to anyone interested in American roots music/ folk/ new country. This boy deserves some recognition for this piece of work. Did I mention 25 songs on one cd?!! |
