When I first heard Norman Brown's single "That's The Way Love Goes" on a jazz radio station I called the station instantly before the song could finished and asked for the artist name and cd title which was "After The Storm", I went and bought the cd the very same day and have been a fan ever since. I was not only impress with his playing but with the song arrangements and the feelings he was delivering so sincerely. He sounded like George Benson playing at his best. Two weeks later I was at a car wash when a Lincoln Navigator pulls up beside me blasting the most incredible jazz guitar playing, I asked for the name of the cd and deja vu!! "Celebration" by Norman Brown. With out a doubt he has picked up the reign of jazz guitarist that was once ruled so many years by the great Wes Montgomery and George Benson.
User rating: 4Nice mix of smooth jazz & soul
I first heard of and saw Norman Brown on TV with his video for the Janet Jackson remake "That's The Way Love Goes". Even though he did a good job on the remake I never really followed up his career until now. When I heard the single "Out'a Nowhere" on local radio I was blown away. This song is an uptempo groove that you can bob your head to and it's also very relaxing. I went out on a whim and purchased "Celebration" and I was very satisfied. Norman Brown is a very talented guitarist, he can also sing and he's such a cutie. He reminds me so much of George Benson.

On "Celebration" Norman Brown provides a nice mix of his smooth jazz style and some R & B. My favorite tracks on this cd are "Out'a Nowhere", the remake of "You Make Me Feel Brand New" featuring R&B group Phajja, "Getting By", and "It's Time for Love". The whole album is so nice, you can listen to it without having to skip a song. Norman Brown did a brilliant job on "Celebration" and I'll definitely be waiting for his next album.

User rating: 5The best smooth jazz guitar album I've ever heard
This album knocked me out! The riffs, the technical solos the scats, it all sounds like a very well produced smooth jazz dream. There are a couple of cool covers. One is "You make me feel brand new" originally by Thomas Bell and Linda Creed. Then theres "Rain" originally by Jaco Pastorius.Tracks 2,3 5,6&9 stand out as strong ones. For $5.99 this album is a steal. I can't say the same for Norman Browns' other albums though. Yes, this one's the best.
