Great Buy! | |
| I'm a mother of 4, ranging from 15 years to 3-1/2 months and this was a great buy. I love how sturdy it is and it's large size, which means I can use it longer than the smaller bassinets. Granted, because it's larger than other bassinets and probably difficult to find fitted sheets, I don't find it too difficult to wash the original sheet. Even if I handwash the sheet, it doesn't take long, nor is it difficult. In addition, I love the bedside feature even though I also own the original co-sleeper. This bassinet is the perfect size for a newborn and probably up to 4-1/2 months. After that, you can adjust the height to its highest position, where it's perfect to use as a changing "table" and you don't have to bend way over to change the baby. As for difficulty in putting it together, I put it together myself while watching T.V. Of course, I put it together a few months ago and don't remember if I had any "problems", but I do remember putting it together fairly quickly because I was watching "Jeopardy." Additionally, my 1-1/2-year-old was trying to help, which most likely made me go slower than I normally would have, and I don't consider myself a handyman. If you're worried about style, this design is on the darker side with dark blue and beige/dk yellow (which I think is adorable, but my last child was a boy), but if you're more concerned about sturdiness and function, I think this is a great buy. | |
Great Idea -- Awful color choices | |
| The Graco 3 in 1 Bedside Bassinet is truly a great innovation in bassinets. I hadn't planned on getting one originally, but once I saw that I could use it as a co-sleeper, changing table and bassinet I decided we had to have it. This is our fourth child and I know it is important for me to have the new baby close those first few months and our space is limited which makes the changing table feature extremely desirable. I was greatly disappointed in the color choices though. I had originally researched these items on the web and French Bear didn't look quite as offensive as the Saratoga but once we got to see it at Babies R Us in person I was horrified at the drabness of both units. I realize that is a strong word to describe a color scheme, but honestly, I don't understand offering two different models in equally drab colors. I'm sick of Navy, but I would have preferred that color over these! Finding these color choices is worse than not having found such a fabulous bassinet in the first place -- I don't want to have to sew new covers for either model, but I know I can't live with the color schemes offered. Am I the only mother out there that hates drab green and olive/tan as color choices for newborn babies??? I really want to return it ... but it is a great product so I am very torn at this point. | |
Nice product | |
| It took me 6, yes six, hours to put this thing together. I was eight months pregnant and was too impatient to wait for my fiance to help. A few screws were giving me a hard time and would not go in properly. We used it as a bed side sleeper at first. Our baby lasted two weeks in it. Those two weeks were fine. Then one night we gave her a taste of our bed. (doh) Fours months later she left our bed and went to the crib. We then used the bassinet as a changing table. It went downstairs in our living room and was soo convenient. The legs were tall enough so i didn't have to break my back to change her. The canopy would distract her with the hanging toys when she would start to toss and turn during a changing. |
