Only okay... | |
| I am trying to figure out how people gave this book a 5-star review. It held my interest, but that's about the best thing I can say. The heroine was completely "wishy washy" and her actions and words completely conflicted with her feelings about Ivan. In addition, I felt there was very little romance or passion in this book. Ivan and Lissa had very few "moments" together and when they were in scenes together, they spent them doing and saying hateful things. Finally, the ending of this book was so abrupt, I wondered why I read the whole thing. | |

| This is probably the best romance novel I've ever read. Ivan is the perfect brooding hero. This novel does an excellent job of creating a sense of place. Most romances that I read mention the time the story is supposed to take place (american west, regency) and then the story might as well be in a modern setting. This story actually creates regency england and maintains that throughout the story. In addition, this book has some of the best written dialogue I've seen in a romance novel. | |
The book that started my journey to like romance book | |
| I love this book. It was the book that made me fell inlove with the hero and heroine, and made me want to read more romance book. The thing I love about Meagan Mckinney's book are that her hero are very manly and loving and reasonable and responsible. Just my opinion, but I couldn't find this other type of hero in other writer's book, except Barbara Cartland. And the heroine's personality as well. That is why Meagan Mckinney is my favorite romance author. She is the only one I would buy a romance book from. Maybe the only complaint I have about this book is that the ending is too abrupt and should have been expanded like many of her other ones. My favorite book from Meagan Mckinney is "The Ground She Walks Upon". |
