Pretty to look at, but FLICKERS
| When we saw the lamp in the store, we fell in love with the color. It matches some of the peices we had bought over the years (entertainment center, coffee table) pretty well. It has a nice glass shade and a very heavy and nice pewter colored base.
BUT....the lamp flickers. And badly. The problem is that the lamp takes two bulbs. And has two levels - low and high. But rather then the "low" turning on just one bulb, it turns both of them on, but at a lower power level. So the incandecent bulbs are made to actually flicker. It's *really* bad. So bad in fact, that I had to put two smaller watt bulbs (it recommened 110 watt bulbs I believe) and ALWAYS turn it on high. (I put two 60 watt bulbs in it for a combined total of 120 watts). It's a decent enough work-around, but it's terrible that you have to do something like that to avoid the flicker.
Love This Lamp | |
| I recently purchased this lamp. I liked the look of it in the store. It's a handsome lamp. I've read reviews stating the lamp flickers, cats and kids have broken the shade etc. AFTER I purchased it. LOL. Well, I'd like to say that if you install the 3-way bulb it recommends on the box and keep it on carpeting you shouldn't have any problems. The lamp is sturdy and doesn't tip. I have 2 cats and so far no problems. (Watch me get home and find the lamp on the floor!) | |

| I am shocked of all the complaints I have read. I am very happy with my lamp. We have had it for 3-4yrs.now.<br /> I'm glad my husband changed the switch to a dimmer, we have not had any problems. |
