| Upon releasing it's latest revamp of a classic, Warlords, Infogrames has reissued it WITH the previously released Combat and Missile Command (Combat hasn't even been out a year!!!!) for the same price each is usually sold separately for...only catch, CD-ROMS come in sleeves, not jewel cases. Warlords looks unbelievable with what they've done to it in 3D...haven't had the chance to play a four player game with friends yet...but that would have to be the downside...any game, whether emulated or a new remake, that once used the classic Atari 2600 paddles as their controllers, suffers greatly with a gamepad or keyboard. It's about time some third party company made a simple, inexpensive USB paddle controller for those of us who just can't let go of the simple, classic feel of the originals...I can guarantee it would be make them money... As for Combat and Missile Command, they're both hyped up, visually gratifying updates of the originals, retaining much of the standard game play...Missile Command is a little too complicated by the ability to "buy" different weapons to save the earth, but if that's too annoying for you, just play the update of the original that comes on the CD. And Combat is definitely a new and different take on the original. Not much like the original in looks, but still addicting. |
