EZ Install! | |
| We found the Baby Trend Latch Loc a breeze to put in our 2003 Honda CR-V. It took more time to find the owners manual than it did to Latch in. The police officer who checked the installation was impressed with the fit. And contrary to what I've read in other reviews and websites, our police officer recommended to use both the LATCH and the seat-belt, which we are going to do. It is nice to see styrofoam on the inside for what I assume is some level of impact protection/comfort. Many of the other seats seemed to be cloth over plastic. Our only hangups besides the hard to find owners manual is similar to other reviews: The release is at the foot of the infant seat, which is against the car seat back, making it harder than it should be to release; the infant seat base alone is not readily available in our local retail stores. We wish our Honda had a middle seat LATCH for extra safety, but I guess I'll have to take that up with Honda. If I'm not mistaken, the recommendation is for the shoulder straps to be at or just below the baby's shoulders. | |
Excellent! | |
| I spent numerous hours doing on-line research, and this had the best reviews. Now that we have our baby, I can see why. The rigid LATCH is a breeze to install. We have a 2002 PT Cruiser. I just extend the arms, hook them to the LATCH points on the car, and push in. Literally takes less than a minute to install very securely. I love the handle configuration. The triangle pattern makes it easy to carry at any angle, with either hand. The wide handle makes carrying very comfortable for us. We've only used it for a month now, but there have been no rattles, the release handle hasn't been a real problem, and even though the belt lock is a bit tricky, it didn't take long to get the hang of it. I've seen other seats with the same puzzle-type lock. Our son loves it (he usually falls asleep in it while we're still in the house...), we love it, and I feel very safe with him in this carrier. I am recommending this to all of my friends who are expecting... | |
Nice car seat | |
| We purchased this car seat for our daughter who was born 3 weeks early and weighed a little over 6 lbs. She fit very nicely in this seat, even with her small size. The handle is so easy to carry and the padding and canopy are wonderful. The restraint straps are really easy to use to take her in and out of it, and it's easy to undue the snap lock. Sometimes the straps did undue uneven, but it was a simple remedy of pulling the shoulder straps out at the same time- not rocket scientry. Once the infant seat that locks into the base did break. The seat wouldn't unlock from the base and the plastic attached to the infant seat that locks on the base broke after we couldn't get them apart. When my husband used force to get them apart, that's when it broke. We didn't consider it a safety hazard, since the seat was still intact to the base, until we broke it. We returned it immediately to the store and they exchanged it for another. It has been 6 mos. now and no problems! Even though this happened, I would still recommend this seat;otherwise, I would have given this seat a rating of 5. She is very comfortable in it and it also rocks when you place it on the floor-very good for shopping with fussy baby. |
