Tried & True | |
| We're very happy with the Rocking Bassinet. Our 2-week-old little girl seems very content in it. This bassinet is VERY sturdy -- which if very important with a curious toddler. We also have a 14 month old who loves to "check in" on his little sister -- via pulling himself up on his tiptoes. Our son also climbs inside the basket underneath w/out wobbling the unit. Living in a small apartment, we needed something that could easily go from one room to the next and the wheels make this possible. Our only concern was the strong "chemical" like smell that the fabric had -- after I hand washed it, I felt comfortable having our baby sleep in it. Also, the product description mentions matching bedding which is a bit misleading -- there are two pieces, one includes the canopy and connected side fabric and the other is the cover for the foam mattress. Set up of the unit is surprisingly easy. All and all this product is safe and a worthwhile purchase I recommend to everyone. | |
Very pleased - passes the sibling safety test. | |
| When shopping for a bassinet, I knew that I didn't want one with a long skirt. Skirts make a far too tempting tent for older siblings. What I hadn't considered was how easily an older sibling would be able to peek into the bassinet without pulling it over. While shopping at [local store], my 3 year old pulled a Graco model over on herself as she did her best to see what was inside. The optional wheels on this model make it short enough for her to peek and the generous storage baskets underneath prevent camp-outs. The rocking feature is a nice bonus. It locks securely to keep it still and it doesn't seem as if it will rock too quickly, even with big sisters lending a hand. It's also going to work perfectly right next to our bed. The sheet washed well and didn't run. The fabric in general seems to be a very nice quality and the print is adorable. My only concern is that the mattress isn't as thick as it could be. I don't think it will be an issue during the first few months, but as the baby gets bigger, he may find it slightly uncomfortable. It is a standard size, though, so we can buy a replacement mattress if it does become an issue. Assembly was reasonably easy for my engineer husband. I don't know that I could have done it in under 30 minutes, but with his cordless drill, it went swiftly. Over all, it's a good buy and I'm pleased with our decision. | |
