UNSAFE-CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY
A FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT THIS CHAIR AND SHE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. I GOT IT WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS 7 MONTHS OLD, THE SECOND DAY SHE WAS IN IT, SHE LEANED FORWARD TO GRAB A TOY SHE DROPPED AND THE WHOLE CHAIR FLIPPED FORWARD TRAPPING HER BENEATH IT BECAUSE SHE WAS STRAPPED IN. SHE LANDED FACE FIRST AND BRUISED HER NOSE AND FOREHEAD PRETTY GOOD. I TRIED THE CHAIR AGAIN NOW THAT SHE IS 11 MONTHS OLD, AND SHE IMMEDIATELY WENT FORWARD TO GRAB A TOY, LUCKILY SHE IS BIG ENOUGH NOW THAT SHE CAUGHT HERSELF WITH HER HANDS AND CLIMBED OUT, EVEN WITH THE SAFETY BELT ON. SHE CAN ALSO TURN HERSELF OVER AND FLIP IT IVER BACKWARDS AND CLIMB OUT THAT WAY. SO I HAVE JUST PUT IT UP NOW. IF YOU HAVE A NEWBORN OR BABY THAT ISN'T GRABBING YET, THIS IS PROBABLY A GOOD PRODUCT, BUT ONCE THEY START PLAYING--TRUST ME--GET RID OF IT OR PUT IT UP! I WAS ALSO TOLD WHEN I INITIALLY BOUGHT IT, THAT THEY DISCONTINUED MAKING THIS PRODUCT, I ACTUALLY HAD TROUBLE FINDING IT, I WISH I WOULD HAVE NEVER FOUND IT NOW! MAKES ME WONDER WHAT "DISCONTINUED" ACTUAllY MEANS!
Safe and Fun for Baby
Most of the bouncers I've seen hold baby in too much of a sitting position - which does not work for most babies under the age of 6 months - they'll just flop to the side. This rocker has multiple positions for different ages and stages. You can use the "kick stand" to keep the rocker from rocking while baby is in the full laying-down position. Then there is a reclined-rocking position, and a sitting-rocking position. The chair is pretty easy to put together, I didn't have any problems during the process. The toys on the toybar are bright and fun, and the Monkey toy plays a little tune when you pull his tail. A great feature is there are 3 little loops on the seatbelt part that you can hook the toys to when you no longer want to use the bar. The toy bar is easily removed when using the chair for a toddler. My 3 year old likes to sit in it and rock when his baby brother isn't using it. It holds up to 40 pounds. My ONLY complaint is the fabric isn't padded. A round piece of board covered by the fabric supports your baby's bottom. They could have added some extra padding inside the fabric cover. Overall, I'm very pleased with this rocker and see it getting a lot of use for years to come!
A great investment
We bought this before the baby was born. He started using it at 2 months and is still using it at 5 1/2 months. He loves spending time in the seat and sits on the floor in front of the toys and plays. It will work as a rocker for him when he starts to walk. We will retire his swing soon and other toys as he starts to crawl, but this will grow with him...it was a great investment.
