A handy phone, with not so handy functions.
| I purchased, rather, received this phone for free with AT&T service about 3 weeks ago. As an active teenager, I think its button layout is pretty cool, and I love the fact that it weighs so little. It's packed with 11 menu features, text AND multimedia messaging, mMode (©) or, wireless internet access, and much more. I have downloaded three ringtones and they sound great, I love hearing my phone ring now, heh. However, there are some things that bug me about this phone. It has one-touch dialing so you can store the number and just press, for example, "8" and it will call the person stored there. Well, when I do that sometimes, the phone shuts off by itself and turns back on. And sometimes, when I'm opening incoming text messages, the phone freezes and I have to shut it off. The entire interface moves about a half second behind how fast you press the buttons, maybe longer, but that's not so bad. You can have voice tags, but I wish there was more memory for it so I could add more. I guess overall the phone is a good buy, generally a first time cellphone user would enjoy it. Great buy, especially when it came free with service activation. :-) | |
Great phone | |
| This is my second nokia phone. I started out with the Nokia 8260 phone which i loved, but i wanted to have a color screen and changeable face plates. I bought the nokia 3595 on e-bay and when i received it, i noticed it looked a like the nokia 3650 because of the keypad. i like the keypad for the 3650 phone, but i like the 3595 features. the nokia 3595 is awesome. i bought tons of cool faceplates which are very easy to put on, no tools required. i also love the color screen, accessing the internet, downloading ring tones/ graphics, the games, the screensaver clock, and all the other features! the ringtones are kind of disappointing, i wish i had some of the original ones which were on my other phone, but i like the way the tones sound when the phone does ring. all in all, with the great at&t service, this phone is great for anyone who likes lightweight quality phones. | |
Surprising ... Junk from Nokia?
| After owning solid, reliable Nokia TDMA phones for several years, I migrated to AT&T GSM and accepted this as a "free" promotional phone. Unfortunately, "free" isn't cheap enough ... Disadvantages: - TERRIBLE audio quality! Severe echo, white noise, and frequent garbling. Just barely usable. There are better Nokia alternatives in GSM, but at steep prices, and you will be paying for other "vital" features like a crude camera, fold-out keyboards, etc. If you want a phone that is primarily designed to reliably MAKE AND RECEIVE PHONE CALLS (!!!), and not play games .. you are probably better served by traditional TDMA service and the more robust and simple Nokia TDMA phone offerings. |
