| Before to enter in the real review i would like to clarify the artists and songs of this new "episode" of The Hotel Costes: 1)SLOW TRAIN - IN THE BLACK OF THE NIGHT 2)STIGMATO INC. -REALITY CHECK 3)EMANNUEL SANTARROMANA -METROPOLITAN 4)3-11 PORTER - SURROUND ME WITH YR LOVE 5)TOSCA - ROLF ROYCE 6)POMPUGNAC -CLEMENTINE 7)BARBARA MENDES - GO TO BE IN LOVE 8)MINUS 8 - SNOWBLIND 9)DUTCH RHYTM COMBO - COME ON 10)FINGATHING - YOU FLY ME 11)SPIRO PROJECT - BLUESLESS 12)ZIMPALA - THE BREEZE IS BLACK 13)GRAND PALACE -PARTY'S ON 14)DOCTOR JAZZ UNIVERSAL REMEDY - UN MONDE SANS FIRME This informations are on the back cover of the cd and also in the photo-paper inside...but this informations are not correct. Infact 11 and 12 are exatly in the opposite sequence : 11)ZIMPALA AND 12)SPIRO...this is a big mistake for a "perfect" team as Hotel Costes and Pompugnac!! | |
One of the best 'de Stéphane Pompougnac' | |
| If you're not a Pompougnac fan now, after hearing this album, you should be. This is the best lounge CD I have bought yet this year and maybe ever. Hotel Costes Volume 5 was my first Stéphane Pompougnac purchase after borrowing my friend's Volume 3 and 4 which I loved. Volume 5 was a disappointment, especially after purchasing the excellent Nu De Lune CDs (more French lounge with provactive women on the album covers). Vol 5 seemed a little more subdued than the previous Hotel Costes albums, but Vol. 6 brings back that wild array of enchanting music. The album starts with the jazzy song "In The Black of Night" (which for some reason reminds me of a "Mac the Knife" motif a la soul music) to the sultry "Reality Check" to the upbeat/ Latino/accordian "Metropolitan" to the soothing guitar strums of "Surround Me With Your Love." I could go on and on, but you should just go buy it. | |
Fabulous Mix | |
| I'm a huge fan of the Hotel Costes series. I have Hotel Costes 5 and recently purchased 6. If you are interested in getting into downtempo, jungle, or the edge of house music, Hotel Costes is the way in. The production is top-notch, and the playlist is engaging. |
