| I bought the Summer Island furniture set about 3 months ago. I bought the table with 4 extenders, the serving/party bar with 4 swivel chairs, 3 umbrellas w/bases, 2 lounge chairs, a 2 seat glider and 10 patio sling (folding) chairs. I love the looks of this patio furniture. It looks beautiful on our new deck. The only complaint I have so far is that the bar across the back of all of the sling chairs had rust spots on them after being outside only a few days. I was very disappointed. I did receive some touch up paint with the tables so I used that to cover the rust spots on the chairs. I sprayed about 2-3 coats of clear rustoleum on all of the chairs and 2 coats of Accent clear satin top coat made by rustoleum afterwards so they would be weather proof and would'nt rust anymore. It worked great. The water beads off of them. I did the same to all of my patio furniture. I wasn't going to take any chances with rust again. Everything looks great. You can't even tell They were painted. I used blue painters tape along the edges of the mesh and put newspaper on the inside to cover the mesh. The people who make the tables and chairs that go with the table, don't make the folding chairs. The only things that had rust on them were the bars on the backs of the folding chairs, the bars on the backs of the bar stools, the bolts underneath the bar stools, and the umbrella stands. I used rustoleum on everything because I didn't want to take a chance on anything else rusting. I haven't had any problems since. I do recommend that the sling chairs, umbrella stands and the bar stools be weatherproofed before putting them outside. I love the set now and don't have to worry at all. If this patio furniture was weatherproofed to begin with, I would have given it 5 stars. |

It looks beautiful on our new deck. The only complaint I have so far is that the bar across the back of all of the sling chairs has rust spots on them already. I kept them in the house until about 2 weeks ago. It had rained a couple of days, so I covered them because it said it would rain some more. I was very dissappointed that there were rust spots on the bar that runs across the back of the chairs. I did receive some touch up paint (4 bottles-1 had spilled inside the plastic and is no good). I used all three bottles up already. From now on, I guess I will have to cover everything when we are not using it. We have spent alot of money on this furniture and have to keep it covered if there is a chance that it will rain. I was very disappointed about that. I do not want it to rust anymore. I am going to try to order more paint. Other than that I just love this set. |
Use Rustoleum before putting them outside!
