Loved IT!!! | |
| Regardless, of some of the negetive feedback by amazon customers. I thought this season was the best of all four!! Becasue in this season, EVERYONE was suffering through some type of drama. Emmett is suffering in a relationship with a closet gay, Pro-Football player. Then at a F-balll game, Emmet finds out that his boyfriend is engaged to his friend/client. When is the last time something like that has been aired, with the sex and all?
Brian getting cancer, and recovering was the best that happened to him. It finally showed he was human, and not an indestructable hearthrob.Melanie had to deal with Lindsy falling "straight" to one of her clients.Debbie has issues that she doesn't get to resolve, with her gay brother who dropped dead. Micheal and Ben are working at being the best fahters they can be. Ted's life is getting on track, from his drug fall. A well as his porno website days etc. The producers are really giving these characters all the drama and trials that they can give, surrounding the Gay community. Its' an awsome season.
Plain Tragic! | |
| "Queer as Folk Season Four" isn't as much exciting as the first three seasons. For one thing, there aren't many new things that happened among the different characters in the series. Basically, the events that took place in this season are continuation of what transpired in the last season. Ted is recovering from drug addiction, Emmett is living a life on his own, Michael and Ben are building a family with Hunter, Melanie and Lindsay are waiting for the new baby, and Brian and Justin are still in their usual trying-to-live-as-a-couple-but-f***-whoever-you-want ways. It has the most boring season opener and the story only picks up during the last few episodes. Even then, some of those emotional events seemed force, especially Brian's cancer which is so-Samantha of Sex and the City! It didn't have much depth and substance. I assume that the audience didn't even care enough since the character didn't grow as much since the first season. So what if he is sick? He still looked his darnest best and didn't lose a single strand of hair during radiation treatment!
As for the rest, they remained a puppet for the oh-so-tragic writing. The Melanie-Lindsay emotional crisis somehow managed to salvage the season but still remained unsatisfying. Thanks to the mere not mentioning of Melanie's cheating on Season 2! Not to mention the unbelievable Hollywood adaptation of "Rage"! It's a good thing that Showtime will be finishing this series on its sixth season. Some good things never really last especially if "sex" is all that they could offer. And for chrissakes, lay off the Brian-Justin sex scenes! Not only that they're less thrilling, they're too enervating, as well!
Bad season | |
| This was a tragic season for QAF. Sad, depressing and uninspiring. I didn't care about any of the characters in this season, and I wanted it to end after the first few episodes. Nothing is resolved between anyone: Emmitt and Ted go down a dark path; Melanie and Lynsey split up (surprise, surprise); Brian gets cancer; and Michael and Ben have to deal with a prostitute's lifestyle change instead of coping with their own; and Justin is just plain boring. Same old thing. I was very dissapointed with this show at the end of the series. I hope season five sparks my flame and keeps me watching. |
